Update* Server has been updated to 1.7.whatever. Please note that this is only to allow 1.7 clients to connect. There are no 1.7 items yet or a new map. We are waiting for Bukkit to update before wiping the map.
Hello Sky Servers Survival players! This morning Mojang released a pre-release of 1.7 along with a release date of this FRIDAY. This is considerably earlier than we had expected and leaves us little time to develop things and get the server ready. Here is what the survival server will be doing:
1. There will be a total map wipe. Here is a list of what will be kept and what will go.

• Ranks & Perks <-- Being Kept
• Current Map <-- Wiped
• Money <-- Wiped
• Inventories <-- Wiped
• /chest <-- Wiped
• Donor Vaults <-- Wiped

2. The server will need to wait for Craftbukkit to update - we can't run a server without this and the size of the changes in 1.7 may mean that this will take a while.3. Once Craftbukkit has updated we will then be testing and setting up the server.

Why We are Having a Map Wipe1. The server SSD is nearly full, therefore any new chunks generated will use up the remaining space resulting in data being corrupted etc.2. The brand new biomes, trees etc etc will only be found in the NEW chunks. As everyone will want these new features it would be necessary to extend the map border further. This would also make existing segments of the map useless.3. The map is old, very old. Its been around since 1.4.6 - January. It is therefore time for a fresh start.4. The size of the existing map means that it MAY NOT work with the 1.7 update, resulting in corrupted chunks, downtime and a map reset anyway.5. We will be using a new economy plugin. The current one was not built for large amounts of players and the file storage type is unstable.
The Good News!Having a map wipe brings along opportunities that we don't normally get. Here are just some of the new features.1. BRAND NEW Skylands2. New PVP arena3. New economy plugin - old one use to reset balances4. Some awesome new custom stuff!5. A chance to see lots of old players comeback!6. Improved random teleportation plugin7. Brand new nether!8. Donor Money - Ask hurcoli for your donation money ONLY. You have a 3 day time period to do this.
Build TransfersWe are doing them. There are several rules though.1. Your build must gain approval from either myself or hurcoli.2. We will not be copying anything below ground.3. We will not be transferring any chests / diamond blocks etc in the build4. It will cost $15 per build transfer. This is so that we don't have to move your dirt box that you built with your friend.YOU MUST GET YOUR TRANSFER APPROVED FIRST. CONTACT ME OR HURCOLI FOR MORE INFORMATION.
Halloween CompIf you were entering the Halloween Comp then it may be a good idea to submit pictures now. Credit will be given to you due to the shortened time frame.
